What Do We Mean By Mind?

What Do We Mean By Mind?

We often affirm,“There is one life, that life is God and that life is our life right now.”There is one mind and it is expressing in us,as us and through us.There is one power, one mind and one life in all that we see.

Just as the sun beams light in and around all things, mind is everywhere present. On the spiritual dimension, all of our minds are connected through the One. If something is happening to some of us, on some level it is happening to all of us. We are the tapestry of all that is and continues to be in the mind of God.

True (TRUTH) Leadership

following-the-leader

All of us can help our society by holding ourselves to high standards. This does not mean holding someone accountable for what he or she said twenty-five years ago. This is unnatural and spiritually wrong. Who among us doesn’t have issues we have needed to forgive and asked to be forgiven from twenty-five years ago?

These types of issues cause an insanity that saps our energy because they bring up the feeling (from a deep layer of the emotional body) that we do not deserve to be forgiven. It costs all of us the ability to believe that life moves forward rather than backward. And when we as a society are part of the process by publicly seeing people put down because of something they said more than twenty-five years ago, we are all zapped at our core because it feeds our own feeling that we are unforgivable and cannot move forward.

The Power of No Is My Inner Guide

enjoying-spring-on-my-balcony

The first time I took a drink of alcohol coming into my 14th year of life, I became very sick for a few days and the first time I smoked cigarettes, I stayed in the bed for several days. My inner guide shouted throughout every cell and fiber of my being, “This is a NO for you.” With my family history, I was destined some would say to be an addict. And yet, I fed the lion and rebel inside of me because I was too determined to not listen to anyone’s advice. You may think not taking the advice of other people would be admirable yet what I have lived to learn is you always want to listen and take the advice of your inner awareness.

Spiritually, I suffered greatly for those 15 years because I heard No and kept going. I did everything I could to drink and drink better. I took speed and smoked pot and any supplements I could take to keep my high longer and yet at the end of every day, I still heard no.

Intuition for humans is like instincts for animals. We have a natural rhythm which guides us with every choice and decision we make. When we do not listen, the pain is so much greater and over time the voice which once shouted becomes faded and dim. Intuition is like a muscle, the more you use it the more you have it. You become toned and tuned one would say and your inner advice will never let you down.

Realization - GPS God Personalized System

gps
Miracles are described as what happens when we wake up one day and “we are there,” we have achieved or arrived at a place in our lives we previously thought to be difficult or nearly unattainable. It seems to be a miracle because we do not recall all the necessary steps it took to get us there.

A realization is when we have an awakening, or an Ah-Ha moment which will free us from an old paradigm of limitation and sorrow. There is a saying: If we knew better, we would have done better. When we have a realization, we are able to do better because we are no longer in our own way.

Clean Our Light

Light

Dr. Bertice Berry, an incredible award winning author tells a story of when she was 12 until graduating from high school, she cleaned houses to make money. One time an elderly lady told her, “Bertice you got to clean the light.” She asked her, “what do you mean?” And the lady told her “you must clean the main light. Look around the light in the entrance way. Nobody ever gets up high and cleans the main chandelier.” She got the ladder after she was told this and cleaned the main light in the entrance way. Later in  the day the man of the house entered and said “WHOA, this house has never been cleaned so good. Take care of this girl and pay her extra.”

Life Without A Zip Code

Life Without A Zip Code

You can go to great lengths to properly box your package, write your handwritten letter or send in a bill through the postal service.

However, if you do not have the five digits called the zip code or even if you have it one number off, it winds up in the ethers never arriving anywhere specifically and it may be months or even longer before your package is discovered.

Often we are working with the law of attraction and waiting for our divine packages to arrive yet we are not fully aligned with the highest and best energy for our soul to deliver our full package

As a soul, you are coded with divine intelligence and all which is necessary to be you including all the experiences, the moments and parts to be absolutely complete in every way. When the orange tree is coming out as a seed, it is coded to be an orange tree, it is destined to be a tree as an orange not a lemon or grapefruit. Not as anything else but an orange. It does not spend  any of its creative time longing to be something different than what it is.

There is a significant difference between being born and being birthed.

birth-of-water-butterfly

As I continue to celebrate the joy, power and privilege of life, I have made some great discoveries regarding being born and being birthed.

Being born is nature and natural and you were born due to the energy and effort someone was willing to put into carrying you and releasing you. Once you are supported and moving past your teenage years, you do not need to be carried by anyone else. Your soul purpose is to become a self actualized individual based upon what you agreed to before you showed up. As long as you are in bondage or needing to be carried or needing to be approved of by anyone else, you will never know true freedom. More than likely you will settle for mediocrity.

Moving From the Hole into the Whole

holetowholeness
You yourself are the eternal energy which appears as the universe.
You didn’t come into this world,
you came out of it like a wave from an ocean.
--Alan Watts

How and when did we lose our intimacy to our beloved Creator, to one another, to all living things but most importantly to ourselves?

How did we evolve by not evolving to forget that we are born out of this earth and therefore all of creation is truly one?

Where do we begin to die, live and be reborn to remember this quest of life we are so fortunate to be part of?

Perhaps when we look at the word intimacy, this is the first place where we either could use more insight, more respect or maybe some deeper reverence. The word intimacy in the Temple Hayes dictionary which translates into--IN-TO-ME-SEE-- is a simplistic way to identify with our relationship with life. While so many people in the world are longing to grow up, longing to understand life’s meaning, perhaps aching to release addictions, not really wanting to die while they are living, feeling drained and disconnected, there is always going to be common truths no matter what anyone ever tells you--we all long to be loved, valued and respected.

The Meaning of Resurrection Especially in These Times

easter
First you must realize you are asleep, then you wake up, then you die so you may be born. You cannot be born until you die and you cannot die until you wake up.
  -
Jungian psychology

There are traditions across the world which celebrate Easter and the joy of Christ being risen. Storytelling is one of the most ancient natural medicines we have for the healing of our hearts and our soul. The Easter story is so powerful yet it deepens who we are in our humanity when we allow the story to be personal for ourselves. How can we allow the Christ consciousness to be born within us?

During these unpredictable and uncertain times we are living in, we are all called to rise up. We have a profound, once in a lifetime moment to seize this window of a universal time out to quiet the noise in our minds and allow a greater connection of God to be experienced in our lives.

Too Blessed to be Stressed?

women-friends-having-fun

Did you know that if you spell stressed backwards the word is dessert? Do you remember when you were a child all that mattered was the fun parts and all the chores and grown up stuff could be saved to last? As a matter of fact we had such a look of dread written all over our faces when we were asked to come in from playing with our friends or we had to wait before we could play. So how did we get to be so important that we do not create the time to still play in our lives. Is the issue that we are more important? What if I told you I believe the issue is we have become non-important. We are so unimportant to ourselves that we have made everything and everyone more significant than we are and we have forgotten the value and necessity of desserts. Often in our society today, too many people are doing things and staying busy without fulfillment and joy. Too many people are on automatic pilot without consciously choosing to participate with decisions which are necessary in order to have a life in which in college we would have written home about. We have forgotten that we are here to enjoy our journey and savor each and every day.

We all know the mantra there is good stress and bad stress and what a brilliant way of making another reason as to why we have forgotten to enjoy our lives. Regardless of whether it is good stress or bad stress…it’s still stress and it accelerates the head chatter, the bad eating habits, the lack of sleep and all the other elements which go with stress. We can intellectualize stress and explain what type it is yet our body still feels it and doesn’t understand why we are so out of balance with it.

Power of Faith

faith

People often ask me about the power of faith. How can I have faith in the midst of such uncertainty?

I read a story recently which describes what human faith is. Human faith is when you go to someone that you don't know and you tell them about a problem that you have, and they write a prescription that you can't read, and you take it to a pharmacist whom you've never met, and they make a compound. They hand it to you and you put it in your body with all the trust in the world. Yes, human faith is a very interesting dynamic. The question is what do we put our faith in? And, don’t we owe it to ourselves to explore beyond human faith to work with spiritual faith using natural laws?

Namaste

namaste

“The God within me meets and recognizes the God within you” is the basic meaning of the word namaste.

Though we all seek different paths and adapt to our own unique beliefs, we are all made of the same energy and essence of God. Our life force as humans is the same. We have discovered among indigenous people of the world, that though they lived in separate countries and did not have the means to communicate, they shared similar rituals. We have the immense ability to connect with the human heart beyond language and geographical borders.

Your Intuition

woman-contemplates

“Our intuition is like a muscle, we must practice listening to it and trusting its wisdom. When you take the time to ask and keep listening for the answer, being at peace becomes easy.” — Lisa Prosen

We have intuition, nature has instincts.

Many people ask today,“How can my life be more magical?” and “How can I go from ordinary to extraordinary?”

Great thinkers have taught us that we either go through life learning and struggling, or we listen to our own intuition. Each of us has the innate ability to listen to our inner voice and receive guidance for direction, clarity or choices.

When we develop trust that our intuition works for us, we expand our active use of it.

What's In Your Way?

absorb-the-sunset-picture-id521228762

There was a battle ship out in the waters, and the captain was out on the bridge and observed that he could see lights and there was another ship in the distance, so he said to the signalman “Please send the message that you need to change your course by 20 degrees.” And so they got a reply back immediately, “you change your course by 20 degrees”. So then the captain said to the signalman again, “You tell whoever that they are to move the course... It's a directive by 20 degrees.” And the message came back, “you move by 20 degrees.” Finally, the Captain said, “You tell them that we are a battleship and to move their course by 20 degrees.” And the message came back, “we are a Lighthouse.”

A lighthouse. Immovable. Unshakable.

Love is the Bridge

love-and-meditation-lifestyle Love is the bridge between you and everything. - Rumi

Many people today in America are sitting in front of their phones, TVs and computers in mere despair. All are feeling so surprised that our Capital experienced such violence and ignorance, and that adversity is being expressed in a country that quickly defines itself as the land of the free and of democracy.

The truth of the matter is we have not been free for a very long time. We are enslaved to greed, enterprise, pharmaceuticals, false prophets and so much more. The Declaration of Independence had possibilities yet required each individual of such creeds to grow into them. Most never have and sadly many never will.

Our country is one of the most desired in the world for the illusion that we have it made, dreams come true, you can be a celebrity or better yet, you can be rich. Yet the deeper truth is behind the illusion we are still working from a place of darkness into the light. We are still rewriting false stories and untruths even as simple as how we were discovered. We are still retrieving our souls for we have lived behind so many false lies told by the white man and retold over and over again.

There is one thing in our society and our nation that is self-evident today. We are craving leadership which stands for all of us and sees beyond our shadows and brings us to the new hope of glory which is US. Not me and only me but WE.

Birthing Your Purpose

Birthing Your Purpose Birthing Your Purpose

Birthing is your job, not your parents nor your teacher nor someone you admire. You will occasionally hear the right words at the right time, you will resonate with a song or words or a reflection of someone else yet the entire purpose is for you to be birthed. You will be birthed thousands of times in one lifetime if you are authentic, free and full of energy and If you do not live from a box or have a paradigm box mentality.

United we stand; divided we are merely a distraction

young-female-couple-hugging-with-rainbow-scarf-at-the-pride-event-picture-id1155237469 United we stand; divided we are merely a distraction
United we stand; divided we are merely a distraction  ~ Temple Hayes

I find it interesting that when this quote first came to me a few years ago I thought of it relative to organizations, communities, societies or families. As time went on, I realized this statement is most significant when it comes to my life experiences as a gay person.

United I stand, divided I am merely a distraction.

I was divided as a teenager when I realized that I was much more drawn to women rather than men. I had feelings for a young woman a little older than me yet the church said I was going to hell. My grandmother actually mourned when I was almost 14 that she would not see me in heaven. Here I was without even a driver’s permit and my grandmother is telling her former favorite granddaughter that she would not see me in heaven. A part of me died a little and felt divided.

The deeper truth of the matter was when I was 10 years old, my mother was accused of having an affair. We lived in a small southern town and to this day, I still do not know if it was true or an accusation. What is true is in the 60’s the South was just like they featured  in the famous film ‘Prince of Tides’. We put things under a rug and don’t look back. We don’t talk about anything that makes us uncomfortable. We medicated before we meditated. We have so many untold secrets and some of the secrets keep us up at night.  When this accusation happened involving my mom, I was sent up North to be with family and my mom was sent to a mental hospital and was gone for a long time. They used those barbaric shock treatments on her and she was never the same. She returned with very little of her memory in place and has experienced physical difficulties due to those methods. We never spoke of these events again. I certainly tried to but no one would engage.

Needless to say, when my father walked in on me at 13 ½  and my teenager more than a friend lover, my parents took me to the Mental Health Clinic. My father was not going to have a homosexual daughter. ( we didn’t really use the word gay then) That day was a defining moment in my life for I was not going to be sent away to some hospital and put in a straight jacket. However, I can clearly see now that I did get a straight jacket placed upon me metaphorically speaking and I would wear it unconsciously for many years.

I was forbidden to ever see my teenager more than a friend first love again and I went from being the family favorite to the one who had whispers around her name. The hurt of abandonment and betrayal was often unbearable. I found a new way, I drank the feelings away and became a full blown alcoholic for the next 15 years.

A New Perspective - Life without hope may be our best chance for peace

feather-and-sunset-picture-id524172236 A New Perspective - Life without hope may be our best chance for peace

Are you, like John Mayer sings, “waiting on the world to change?” Or are you trying, as Gandhi advised to “be the change that you wish to see in the world?” Maybe, like too many of us you’re humming that old Dusty Springfield song, “just wishing and hoping and thinking and praying. Planning and dreaming …”In her poem “Hope” is the Thing with Feathers, Emily Dickinson’s creates a metaphor of hope through a little bird “that perches in the soul” and “never stops—at all.” It’s always there inside. It never asks for anything and it never takes flight. It never reacts or participates. That’s the thing about hope. It just hangs out with us, especially during dark nights. Although hope offers encouragement, it rarely mobilizes our energy or our actions.

Woody Allen parodied this metaphor in his book Without Feathers, about his neurotic sense of hopelessness especially in regard to God and death. It’s funny. It’s counter intuitive and it made me wonder is the opposite of hope really despair? Or is it participation?

As a young girl growing up in the heart of the Bible belt, hope was affiliated with the concept of victim. “I hope that God will hear me.” It actually lowered expectations and consciousness because hope became something that was always delayed or put on the shelf. It was about waiting for the knight in shining armor or some magical evangelical leader to be the change. In my early life experience, it taught me to give my power away. It put the responsibility on someone else—to live a life in the fading light of day.
