PLAY THE THREE MINUTE MIRACLE GAME

I’m ridiculously content this morning because I did this game that I hope you’ll muster the courage to do out loud with me. I call it The Three Minute Miracle Game and I can tell you it works for me every time.

Let me ask you something. Do you notice that it can be really difficult to own your desires, really get that you are worthy of them, that when you look into the outer conditions of your life (or watch the bad news reminding you to be freaked out) you think that is what your future holds?

We all get hypnotized by it and let’s face it, how many of you, myself included were taught that you had to dim your light to belong, tone it down, that you had to fit into a skinny box, a young box, a religious box, an “x” box that now you have to really guess to figure out (omg I don’t know what box I need GARF!!) – to be happy, or just to belong etc.

Predictions: Can You Change The Outcome?

predictions Predictions: Can You Change The Outcome?

The most popular blog I’ve written in the past 10 years is on the subject of predictions. Given that everyone needs some empowering things to think about, I revisited the article and gave it a polish for you to enjoy this week.

Over the past 30 years, I think the most asked questions of me are from people asking for my thoughts on predictions they’ve been given by different psychics and intuitives. Some of the common questions are: What do you do if you get a negative prediction? Are predictions absolute or can you change them? Why hasn’t a particular prediction come true yet?

At this juncture, I’m going to mention that for the first 20 years of my professional life the concept of prediction was very important. It was, as an intuitive, my job to look into the realm of possibility and pull out a probable future. After all, it’s part of my skill set and I had a very high level of accuracy which helped build a solid reputation by word of mouth. Today I am not a fan of predictions, for the main reason that the minute we ask to see the future as an absolute – a place we land that promises us an outcome, we give our power away, and take ourselves out of the grounded moment where we have the power to co-create reality in partnership with the universe.

Why did I change my perspective on this subject? Things began to change as I personally explored the notion of absolute determinism vs free will. I started asking the hard questions. Why is it easy to see the future so clearly and at other times see multiple possibilities? Is it ethical to predict the future? What happens to someone when they hear a prediction that keeps them mired in a compulsive relationship pattern? Isn’t it better to track potentials and probabilities where there is room for course correction?

10 Simple Self Care Tips To Manage This Mercury Retrograde

10 Simple Self Care Tips To Manage This Mercury Retrograde

(SPECIAL FOR EMPATHS AND HIGHLY SENSITIVE PEOPLE)

This week we are in the first week of the first Mercury retrograde cycle of 2018 which is a perfect time to retrace your steps and have a look at some of the ways in which you need to reaffirm your self-care. It’s also a great time to focus on ways to manage your experience especially if you identify as a highly sensitive person or empath. This particular retrograde in Aries is highly charged and can be quite combustible and combative. That said it’s also perfect for rigorous self-honesty, and really determining what you are enthusiastic about!

So, if you’re sensing the edge in the air and it starts to feel overwhelming you need to find a way to manage your experience. You don’t want to end up feeling like the energy of the world is assaulting you (and it really can feel like that sometimes.)

I’m going to include a video from Nick Ortner at the end of the blog to support you too since he has a great way to dial down anxiety. Bottom line is that intuitive people can suffer if they don’t have tools to manage their boundaries and feelings. (and they can also find it hard to release excess body weight, manage fatigue too etc. but that’s a whole other story)

How to Dream a New Story for Your Life

How to Dream a New Story for Your Life

What negative story do you tell other people about yourself over and over? Most of the time when we repeat our “shadow narrative” we aren’t aware of it, we can’t see that the telling of it anchors the memory deeper into the universe, making it a part of your current condition.

Take a minute to really think about this.  Do you see yourself in your story as always being disappointed by people you elevate? Do you tell a story of the world as a place you need to rebel against? Perhaps you tell a story about being a victim of other people’s issues, or maybe you tell one of you overcoming obstacles, always having to do everything yourself. Help never comes. (Sigh) Or maybe you tell a story of being pushed out, isolated by others, so you can continue to live in an illusion of being a victim, and so you can enjoy vicious gossip to vent your unprocessed anger.

Celebrate the Spring Equinox!

Colette-Baron-Reid-Celebrate-the-spring-equinox

Feel the Pulse of Co-creation

Happy Spring to all of us in the north, and happy Fall to my friends Down Under! (Although where I live on my farm outside of Toronto it looks like winter has come back- but heck I am hopeful!)  The Spring equinox is when the Light and Dark are equal and then a new cycle begins as the Light begins to grow and become more powerful. This time of year always triggers a shift in everyone just as Nature shows us new beginnings and new life so will the natural flow of seasons in our lives, our projects and our dreams begin to naturally evolve.

When new life begins to appear its natural to feel the same compelling drive within you too. I find it most apparent at the spring and fall equinoxes. Something just begins to turn on the magic so to speak.

If you slow down enough to tune into your inner awareness you’ll sense that urge to spring clean, to make space for new life , or in the autumn you’ll feel the call to clean up to make space to incubate new dreams.

This time of year we really begin to feel the pulse of co-creation, abundance and our infinite potential for prosperity. There’s an anticipation, a palpable energy that we can tune into that turns on a switch, like all of a sudden going from dim and hazy to bright and shiny.

The Prospering Power of Attention

Colette-Baron-Reid-The-prospering-power-of-attention

..one secret everybody forgets when getting on the manifesting train

My friend the late Dr. Wayne Dyer always said that the power of Intention was the single most important aspect to keep in mind when considering the subject of “reality creation”. What’s that? The ability to create our own reality is wired right into us and is the most natural thing we could do (nobody teaches us this hmmm I wonder why?)

SO, If you’re reading this you are probably already a card-carrying manifesting enthusiast and if you’re new to me you may not be aware but you are seriously doing it all the time!

The Sacred Power of Musing

colette-baron-reid-the-sacred-power-of-musing

Did you know that you have a sacred relationship to the creative force within you? Even if you don’t consider yourself “creative” you are actually doing it all the time. You create emotional scenarios to experience, you reinforce patterns of the past, and dream your intentions into the fabric of reality whether you are aware of it or not.

You are the artist that stewards reality forward on behalf of the Great Artist- the Conscious Universe that is the primal Source of everything- visible and invisible. If you’ve ever felt the pull of inspiration or the call to make something new of yourself you are in a dance with that integral part of you.

Philosophers have waxed poetic about this relationship for eons. I think the Greeks had the best idea when they explored the creative impulse as a sacred relationship between us and the Muses – the daughters of Zeus and the goddess of memory- Mnemosyne. These minor goddesses were birthed to represent the spirit of the arts, science, and literature to help us forget the sadness and darkness in the world.

When Love Comes Later (Finding Love Later in Life)

colette-baron-reid-when-love-comes-later

I am admittedly a late bloomer when it comes to the traditional idea of partnering and Love having met my soulmate when I was 44 (the husband kind). But to be honest I would not have accepted the possibility of that in my earlier years, say my 20s and 30’s.

When I was 20 a 44 year-old woman was, in my eyes (please forgive that young me!) old and en route to drying up. I had no idea I would be at the beginning of the best years of my life (which I am loving even more NOW) at 44, nor did I understand the work I had to do to truly be alive and ready to be a good partner.

I used my outer life experience as a way to measure my worth which was determined by whether I was partnered or not. You may not identify with this but I had a real drive to meet THE ONE since I was a teenager. The ONE was going to make everything all better! But that was only part of it. Being rescued by a prince was part of the Cinderella fairy tale I bought into but the truth is I had a lot of love to give, I just had a distorted and dysfunctional map of Love to follow.

Without going into the details of my experimentations in the Love department before my 40’s I’m going to stick to the topic of discovering a later love and what that could mean.

No matter how much I said I wanted to have a family and settle down, I attracted lovers who could not offer that to me. In fact, the more unavailable, inappropriate and just plain wrong they were the better. I could never see that at the time, preferring to label myself a victim of my sad despairing romantic failures (I could sing you quite the sob story!).

Deep down I knew I couldn’t have kids which was confirmed in my late 30’s so that normal “let’s meet fall in love and start a family!”  was not to be anyway and the men I was attracted to were hard-wired for betrayal anyway.

When Soulmates Bring You to Your Knees

Colette-Baron-Reid-When-soulmates-bring-you-to-your-knee_20180223-120540_1

Continuing the theme of exploring relationships this month I’ll ask this question. Do you remember a time when you thought you met “THE ONE” and felt so strongly that you had met your soulmate, only to see this special relationship go up in flames, and you on your knees sobbing and confused?

This can apply to best friendships too not just romantic relationships. I’ve befriended a few people I was convinced would be my friend for life only to see it all unravel and disintegrate in a short time. Perhaps this may have happened to you too?

The truth is these are soulmates of a different kind, harbingers of true healing and what I like to call Shadow teachers. Through these powerful connections we get to see how our unprocessed wound-patterns still can cause us to be in denial when we choose to follow through on our attractions.

Love and the Law of Attraction

Colette-Baron-Reid-Love-and-the-Law-of-Attraction

Thoughts on Valentine’s Day, and How to Manifest a Partner 101

It’s the week of the Valentine’s holiday here in North America and since we’ve traditionally been so heavily pushed to pay attention to it, it’s always been the week, (when I still did one on one consultations) where every single client who wanted to be in partnership would focus on the question “ How can I attract my soul mate or the impossible question- When will I meet my soulmate?” This is the week where Love and the Law of Attraction dance together. It’s also the week where many of us have memories that make the subject come alive and not always pleasant.

So in celebration and honor of all the aspects of the SuperBowl of Love – February 14th- here we go!

I wonder how you felt about this but, when I was little I loved going to school on Valentine’s Day because we had an important task- to spend the morning immersed in creating evidence of LOVE and devotion on paper hearts which would then be delivered to everyone in the class in the afternoon. I was taught it was a day to value love in all forms and one to give and receive declarations of love. No one was left out and sometimes you’d get a nice message from a kid you’d previously ignored. Even the snooty mean girls might share their chocolate spontaneously. It was, for the most part, a moment of sharing LOVE that transcended our separation.

To this day I love the smell of construction paper and glue because it reminds me of the excitement and joy of making special cards for my family and my classmates and even my dog too. While, I don’t remember that I was taught the historical meaning of the day I do remember that February 14th was supposed to be like Christmas- a very special day. Until I became a teenager and it got weird.

How to Connect to Very Chatty Universe – to have a real conversation about what counts!

colette-baron-reid-how-to-connect-to-a-very-chatty-universe

You know people always ask me how do you have a conversation with the universe? Is it prayer and meditation? Of course, both of those are regular practices of mine and they are important (in my opinion) but neither is particularly good at the dynamics of what we know is a conversation. You know one person talks then the other one talks back.

Praying is good but it’s more talking “at the Universe” than with it sometimes. How many times have I been on my knees (AHEM in the past mind you) saying Dear God, Spirit, Universe angels and whoever else runs the show – please, please make this go away (you know when you’re unhappy with your crappy result of manifesting) I promise wholeheartedly I will never do “it” again!! (eat the whole cake, kiss the wrong guy, chase the wrong results). I came from the school of bargaining prayer. If I do this please can I have that?? I will be a good girl if you remove my mom’s Cancer, don’t let my dog die, watch our house be taken away.

Eventually, prayer for me was centered on gratitude and allowing, forgiveness and radical acceptance. I learned to pray for the willingness to be willing (to let go, to surrender, to let go some more etc.)  and sometimes the Universe would answer by giving me a break or by testing me until I was ready.

I always felt the partnership but it took ages to get the conversation part of it practical.

Time to Regroup and Dream

colette-baron-reid-time-to-regroup-and-drea_20180130-005515_1

Life at the beginning of the New Year is such a funny thing, isn’t it? It’s like we’re split in two. There is one side of us which is aware that we’ve set intentions and made resolutions and we feel driven to get things done in order to prove to the world we’re going to change! We think to ourselves; life in this New Year is magical and filled with P*R*O*M*I*S*E ! Now is NOT the time to waste!

Then there’s this other inconvenient self that wants to curl up and rest and dream and perhaps not move so fast too soon. That part of us can seem lazy, and not at all in alignment with our highest intentions!

Or, is there wisdom in this self? Maybe we need to listen to this need to regroup and dream?

The tension between these two selves, two perspectives, creates a kind of guilt for some of us.  We start thinking that we better get off our butts and prove that we mean business! The treadmill calleth! We have dutifully thrown away the leftover holiday sweets and have begun a new and healthy plan.

Regrouping and dreaming can seem like a waste of time at the beginning of a new year when we put pressure on ourselves to perform miracles right out of the gate. The truth, however, is that taking time is exactly what we should be doing. Whether you are in the dead of winter like we are in the Northern Hemisphere or midsummer Down Under both these seasons ask us to stand still and contemplate what we’ve set in motion and refine our intentions slowly and honestly.

Be a Badass Spiritual Manifester.

colette-baron-reid-be-a-badass-manifester

Years ago when I first got introduced to the notion that my thoughts and emotions created my reality I couldn’t get over the simplicity of the concept.  Then I wondered, why was this not taught in school?! It was when I read a book by Florence Scovel Shinn called “The Game of Life and How to Play It” that the light bulb went on with an almost blinding light of recognition. Once this wisdom opened my eyes wide, I then gobbled up every book I could get my hands on, my favorites by Ernest Holmes, James Allen, then Catherine Ponder. This led me to A Course In Miracles and then Louise Hay.

It’s no surprise I ended up a Hay House author, given I ate slept and breathed this subject of manifestation and our role in it all.  I also recognized the spiritual solution to life, and how everything worked so differently than perception allowed.

That is, of course, the big fat dilemma and why I say you really need to learn how to be badass about it! You need so much courage and conviction to make this work because everything in our world suggests otherwise. Our five senses trick us into believing we’re separate from each other and from the world we perceive. We experience time as something other than the truth of what it is too, trapping ourselves into believing in a linear life disconnected from our true power- which is that we are always tapped into Source- the energy of the universe from which we were made.

The universe is alive and conscious and is in everything, animating all of life that we see and even more of what we cannot ever possibly see or know intellectually.  If we go deep inside where logic has no place we will connect to that knowing, that still small voice, that says yes we are partners in this universe and it’s up to us to co-create it!

This Is What I Know About Predictions

Colette-Baron-Reid-This-is-what-I-know-about-predictions

How often have you wondered “what’s going to happen?” and gone to see a psychic, astrologer, or intuitive to answer that question. I used to be that professional that would peer into the future to tell you what I saw. I actually built my reputation on that talent. In fact, there was a time that it wasn’t hard to do. Not many people were interested in self-evolution or creating their own reality. Most of us didn’t even know we could! Futures could be predicted because we moved at a slower pace.

The world was different 20 years ago.  Our species was not as connected the way we are now. We were not distracted, nor pushed forward by the same velocity, nor were we as focused on our human potential as powerful co-creators in partnership with a Conscious Universe.

So, things have changed and making predictions have changed.

Early on I recognized that what I was foreseeing were potentials realities- likely possible futures that would show up about people I was reading in my other awareness. Yet they were never shown to me as absolutes. Oh sure sometimes I’d have bet my life on something happening, as I watched something that was already in motion, arise.  Over time, however, I started to see how people would give their power away to a reading and not work on what they actually needed to do to continue on their path to achieving certain things, or the experience they hoped for would not be provided by the event predicted. Things have drastically changed in the past few years.

Predictions are a funny game and the game has changed.

Change this.. And Change Your Whole World

Collette-Baron-Reid-change-this-and-change-the-world

Can our minds really shape our outer world? Yes, our thinking definitely affects a lot of things. If you think and believe you are unworthy (of love, prosperity, achievement etc.) your thoughts, even the random ones will reflect that, and your behaviors and choices will follow.

What we think about often enough will solidify, make a neural network in our brains (straight up science). What happens is that we essentially turn on an automatic pilot set to seek out evidence in the outer world of what we repeat internally. The Law of Abundance states that everything is possible at all times!

You may identify with my dating story. In my early years of dating I kept attracting men who would victimize me or betray me, most were unfaithful, and some were violent and abusive. I’ve shared my #metoo story about how I was raped, molested when I was little, and how shame took up residence inside me. I didn’t believe I was worthy of love, although I didn’t know that at the time, I saw myself as a victim and deep down I was terrified of intimacy. The outer world presented me with many ways to keep this story alive. I only noticed the bad boys.

How 5 minutes of this practice can Change Your Life

Colette-Baron-Reid-How-5-Minutes-of-this-Practce

Every New Year I wake up with so much gratitude and awe, and think of that fateful night in 1985, when I finally hit bottom, took my last drink, my last drug, and surrendered to my Higher Power. After all you can’t pray for deliverance and not let go. At some point the bottom rises to meet you. Then there is one moment of choice. We choose our future in these kind of moments, where we stand at the turning point and leap into the unknown or go back to the painful familiar.

Today marks 32 years of continuous sobriety from drugs and alcohol and its true that a lifetime has passed one day at a time. Who I was then, is not who I am today.

What I learned by being sober was first to live one day at a time. Every 24 hours if I lived with humility and gratitude I would be choosing a new future. It was in following a spiritual program that I learned that these principles can be applied to any struggle, anything at all that harms or victimizes. Addiction is a symptom of a spiritual and mental malaise at its core. Gratitude is the abracadabra that swings the door to a new world wide open.

As We Clean up the Dirt… Let There Be Light…

colette-baron-reid-clean-as-we-clean-dirt-into-light

This week is an interesting one given that we begin with a serious New Moon on Monday, providing us an opportunity to make intentions for how to say goodbye to 2017, real and clear.

Then we close out the week with the Longest Night (in the northern Hemisphere/ opposite Down Under) followed by the Winter Solstice where we celebrate the rebirth of the Light.

Speaking of which I’m going to do a special Facebook Live on Friday the 22 at noon EST to celebrate- yes I am doing readings! You must come!

Symbolically this season is so rich with metaphor, that if you pay attention, you really can see the connections between all of it. Yes we’re still being invited to clean up the dirt in our lives in the last week of mercury retrograde, refusing, reassessing, re-calibrating, revisiting, repairing and reinforcing. Even though this is the symbolic time of greatest darkness there is so much Light being called into the world right now it’s amazing.

Your Delicious Drama Free Zone for December

Collette-baron-reid-drama-free-December

So has this mercury retrograde brought some unwanted drama to your life? Do you want to know how to create a delicious drama free zone for December?

Mercury retrograde in the chatty unfiltered sign of Sagittarius is one where you’ll notice a lot of people (maybe even you?) opening their mouths, and typing ALL their feelings and opinions without any thought or censorship at all, any time anywhere. Can you hear the cacophony of thoughtless angry noise in the energy of the world? What about inside your head?

Entitlement, resentments, and a sense of not enough are thought viruses that can infect a crowd faster than you can sneeze. The question now is what do you believe in your heart and soul, and can you bring compassion and understanding to that which you most fear or loathe? Can you take on the friendly curious nature of Sagittarius and see this all as an adventure traveling through Uncharted seas, co-creating with Spirit and discovering treasure as you go?

How to celebrate #Giving Day!

Ok, can I just say how much I LOVE what today means? Not sure if its everywhere in the world but it is an important day in the USA and Canada.

I’m not sure who made it official but it’s the day of the year where charities call out to us to help their causes.

There are so many charities that depend solely on our donations to survive and to make a difference in the world. Today is that day when we really can make a difference.

Jingle Bells – Be Here Now

colette-baron-reid-jingle-bells-be-here-now

Have you noticed that Christmas seems to be way too early every year? I was with a couple of my friends on Saturday night at a mall and we were remarking how eerie it was that everything was all decked out for Christmas already.

Everywhere we looked was tinsel, and glittery ornaments and holiday smells and there was music like Jingle Bells and other joyful happy holiday songs playing everywhere.

To be honest I love all of it.
