And if there’s one thing I can tell you about the world’s most successful leaders – not to mention the secret to achieving recognition and lasting success as a coach, speaker, business owner, or leader in your own organization or industry – it’s this:

My 101 Personal Goals in Life

If you are bored with life, if you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals. –Lou Holtz

I’ve studied the science of success for over four decades now – and if there’s one thing I know for sure to be true, it’s this:

The only way to attain a high level of success in life is to set personal goals for yourself and refuse to let anything stop you from achieving them.

… Sounds simple, right?

Yet so few people seem to be able to pull it off.

Most people in life don’t bother to set personal goals for themselves. They’re too busy reacting to daily chaos and won’t open their eyes toward the horizon to plan for a future.

Even if they do look ahead and set future goals for themselves, they lack the focus and motivation required to achieve their aspirations in life and give up when the first challenging obstacle appears on their path.

Or they set personal goals that don’t take them in the direction of the life they want to live. Their personal goals list reflects what they think they should want to achieve in life, rather than what they actually want to experience.

I don’t want that to happen to you. That’s why today I’m going to teach you how to set personal goals that are guaranteed to lead you in the direction of your dreams.

You’ll also learn how to identify future goals for different areas of your life so that you’re able to experience more balance, harmony, and greater fulfillment in everything you do!

How To Fund Your Dreams

I’ve talked a lot about what it means and how it feels to be a dreamer. Sure, there is some negative connotation with constantly having new ideas about what you want. But as I’ve said before, no dream is idle. You are one of the lucky ones. You have both the energy, the openness and the creativity to allow dreams to manifest within you. That’s why I want to discuss the money behind the idea.

As much as money affords opportunity, I believe that you can turn the money you have right now and get started creating your own opportunity. Dreaming and pursuing those dreams shouldn’t be reserved just for the wealthy. You’re not rich? That’s okay. I wasn’t either when I decided to open my own financial business. You just need to be practical and smart with where you invest your time and how you save, spend and invest your money.

Master The Art of Cultivating a Winning Mindset With These 5 Principles

We all have heard over and over again that ‘mindset is everything’. What exactly is mindset? The dictionary defines it as ‘an established set of attitudes held by someone.’

In her awesome book, Carol Dweck talks about 2 different types of mindset: a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. Mindset: The New Psychology of Success explains how we take a set of ideas, or what I would call beliefs, into our experiences and interactions on a daily basis, and our actions are a reflection of those ideas or beliefs. Open or closed, positive or negative, fixed and set in stone or growth oriented and expansive.

A fixed mindset assumes that: I have what I have - skills, talents and knowledge and those are set in stone. None of it can or will change. A growth mindset translates into knowing that we can learn, grow and stretch our abilities so that challenges turn into opportunities for expansion.

Here are 5 powerful mindset principles that will support you in cultivating a winning mindset no matter what is going on around you, or in the world.

Accountability vs. Responsibility

How would you like to learn a success strategy that will double your chances of achieving your goals?

I’m talking about the power of accountability, and today I’d like to give you some tips on how to put it to work in your life so that you do a better job of achieving the goals you’ve set for yourself this year.

We’ll also talk about accountability vs. responsibility and the differences between the two so you can better understand how each strategy will empower you to accomplish more, faster, in the months ahead.

Accountability vs. Responsibility: What’s the Difference?

Stephen R. Covey says that “accountability breeds response-ability.”

He’s the author of the bestselling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, in case you don’t know him.

I like this saying because it suggests that accountability and responsibility are different from each other — and it highlights the fact that being held accountable increases your ability to respond, which means taking action.

When you are responsible for something, it is your duty to respond and take action.

When you are accountable, you are responsible for reporting the actions you have taken and providing an account of the results.

Responsibility is task-oriented. You are responsible for accomplishing the tasks required to achieve your goals.

Accountability, on the other hand, is results-oriented. When you are being held accountable for something, it is your duty to take stock of what you’ve done and report on the outcomes of your actions.

Both of these duties are key to your success.

How to Integrate Cosmic Ordering into Your Business

What Is Cosmic Ordering?

The person who introduced me to cosmic ordering was Ellen Watts. Ellen explains that essentially, cosmic ordering is asking the Universe for what you want – and it arrives. It’s not something she has created all by herself either; rather, it’s been around forever. You’ll even find cosmic ordering in the Bible, where it is referred to as ‘miracles.’

Ellen shared with me her cosmic ordering technique, which is to say: “What I really want is X” and finish by saying “For the good of all concerned.” Ellen stresses that it is very important to finish each cosmic order with that final sentence as it ensures that no one should ever lose out in order for you to gain. This is very important to her when she places her orders, especially orders relating to money, as she doesn’t want anyone to die in order to leave money to her.

It is important to remember that you must never wish for anything bad on someone else as that is just a way to create bad karma for yourself. In fact, orders asking for something bad to happen to someone else will never be delivered. Cosmic orders are about you – specifically what you want for yourself – and are therefore delivered to you. It’s similar to when you go to a restaurant and place an order for your food. You order what you want to eat for yourself (pizza with a side order of chips) – not anyone else.

Keys to Being A Powerful Sales Goddess That Others Want to Mirror

All good leaders must lead by example, that is a given. Being a powerful woman in Sales and Leadership is no different - you MUST walk your talk. Through actions which are aligned with what you say, you become a Goddess who others want to follow, mirror and do business with. When leaders say one thing but do another they erode trust, a critical element of effective leadership and successful sales. Remember behaviors speak louder than words. When trust is allowed to build, a leader will always have a supportive team, ongoing loyal clients and friends who are there to cheer her on.

Here are the keys to being a Powerful Sales Goddess:

The Single Most Important, Powerful & Effective Transformational “Tool” of My Entire Life

In my nearly 50 years of studying and practicing the Universal Laws that govern success, I have tried countless strategies to create results in my life.

From ancient teachings, to scientific breakthrough methods, or practices I discovered along the way.

But more than any other success strategy, I have found there’s ONE powerful way to transform your life with far less stress than you could do on your own…

This resource far outperforms any method, formula or system

It’s having a mentor!

I firmly believe that having a mentor is the most powerful resource I know for overcoming obstacles and building a life you would love.

When you start working with a mentor, it’s not unusual to make more progress towards your dreams in a couple of weeks that you have made in a whole year before!

How do I know this, you may ask?

Because I know firsthand how impactful having a mentor can be.

Right now, I’m living a great life I love: I have built three 8-figure businesses, spoken at the United Nations three times, I have an amazing husband and wonderful kids…

But my life wasn’t always like this. Decades ago, I was struggling to get my first business off the ground… I was stuck for seven years

Until a mentor helped me overcome the plateau I was stuck in. He helped me break through challenges in my business and completely transform my life in multiple, powerful ways.

Before meeting my mentor, it was a struggle to get more than 20 people to show up for my talks…

However, within a year of working with him, I was able to break through my previous record of 40 attendees to 90 people showing up regularly! The following year, 350 people came to my talks… Ultimately, 3,000 people were showing up on a regular basis!

But this exponential progress didn’t happen to me… it happened with me, because I had expert guidance along the way: a mentor.

What exactly is a mentor?

How Come it Takes So Long to Succeed? (and what you can do about it…)

Working on a long-term dream or goal? Oh, I see workshop participants worry like grandmothers, patting down an imaginary apron, as they talk about their perceived lack of progress. Because those of us daring to live unconventional, inspired lives often feel plagued by this: Why does it take so long to succeed?

I don’t know about you, but I kept thinking I must be doing something wrong. It was obvious everyone else had it altogether.

I saw other’s perfection on T.V.--- though I managed to ignore the drug commercials for depression, high blood pressure, fatigue, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts---which should have been a clue. I kept looking for my pattern, my ancestor’s pattern, a fly in the ointment, something to blame for still sorting through a life in process.

Maybe I just didn’t go to the right astrologer, business-coach, or witch-doctor. Maybe I should have seen John of God or spent a tiny bit less time plundering Nordstrom’s and thrift stores. Maybe I should have shoveled out my subconscious mind, gotten a chiropractic adjustment for my karma, taken an internet marketing course, or moved to the Bay area. And don’t get me started on family.

How to Reject Rejection

“No” doesn’t have to be the end of the story. You can learn how to reject rejection, and look at it as an opportunity to progress forward and even excel at the very thing you were rejected for.

Today I want to talk to you about how to reject rejection—and how to use it to launch yourself even closer to your goals.

Rejection Does Not Mean Failure

If I were a betting man, I’d wager that you don’t like being rejected. Of course not, it’s not a good feeling. Who among us looks forward to being told our idea wasn’t good enough, that we didn’t quite measure up to the task, or we ourselves are somehow flawed?

Dare to Ask for What You Want

My first mentor, W. Clement Stone, the author of “The Success System That Never Fails,” taught me many things, but one of the most important being able to ask for what you want.

He would repeatedly remind me, “If there is something to gain by asking and nothing to lose by asking, by all means ask.” This one principle has reaped great rewards in my life, and it can do the same for you.

That’s why today, I want to discuss the importance of asking for what you want in order to reach your full potential.

How to Ask For What You Want

Unfortunately, many of us are not great at asking for what we want. For any number of reasons stemming from childhood conditioning to traumatic rejections later in life, we have become afraid of the word “no.”

To be successful, you have to be willing to ask and keep asking for what you want until you get a “yes.”

Rejection is just part of the journey to finally getting to a “yes.” And it only takes one “yes” to radically change your life forever.

The Secret to Funding Your Dreams

There are some hugely negative connotations in our culture today about constantly having new ideas and dreaming about your future. We’re pressed towards having a steady, life-long career regardless of how it makes us feel, making a lot of money, and that’s our culture’s definition of success… So why do I talk so much about what it means and how it feels to be a dreamer?

Because here’s the truth about dreaming: no dream is idle. As a dreamer, you are one of the lucky ones. You have the energy, openness, and creativity to allow dreams to manifest within you and become your new reality.

Dreaming and pursuing your dreams shouldn’t be reserved for the wealthy. There’s no denying that money affords opportunity, but I believe you can turn the money you have right now into a sustainable support for your dream. You’re not rich? Not a problem. I wasn’t either when I started my financial business. All you need is to find the root of your dream, be practical about where you invest your time and how you save, spend, and invest your money.

Mark Nepo's Weekly Reflection: Living a Making

When finding my way as a young man, I came home from college to have a classic argument with my father. Over dinner the first night, I declared to him with excitement that I was a poet. I hadn’t yet written anything but knew it was true. He was incredulous and frustrated and loudly asked, “How are you going to make a living?” I’m not sure where it came from in me, but I looked at him and said, “I’m going to live a making.” I confess that I’ve spent much of my life learning what that means. And it is living a making for so many years that has led me to the place of true meeting that waits under all our struggles.

I have learned that making a living is how we survive, but living a making is how we thrive. We need the strength and resilience to do both.

There is always a tension between surviving and thriving, and between making a living and living a making. Part of the journey of individuation is withstanding the tension of both until they work hand in hand.

How to Be the CEO of Your Own Life

Tell me if you can relate… Are you feeling stuck in a job that isn’t satisfying, perhaps one that’s not taking you anywhere you truly want to go? Maybe you don’t know what to do about it or how to change? Do you find yourself hating your work and feeling stuck there?

I encounter this a lot in my own work, and believe it or not, it’s not only people who are financially strapped with stories similar to these. No matter the amount of money in a 401k and other savings, any one of us can look up one day to find ourselves decades-deep in a less-than-desirable job situation without a clue for how to escape.

The job landscape is transforming before our eyes, forcing a lot of people to take jobs they don’t love simply to get by financially. Others of us are staying in jobs we don’t like to maintain a lifestyle we were once convinced we wanted, but now all this “just getting by” is making us feel like another drone in the system.

5 Tips for Focusing Used by Successful People

If you were to ask someone like Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, or Elon Musk why they have managed to create such incredible success in life, they would probably credit their achievements to one thing: their ability to FOCUS.

Today I’d like to teach you some of the best tips for focusing that I’ve learned from the highly focused and successful people I’ve met and worked with, so you can put their methods to work in your life – and achieve your goals much faster and much more efficiently.

We Are Prone to Distractions

Being able to focus on the task in front of you and get it done, no matter what is happening around you, is like a modern-day superpower. Most of us aren’t able to do this.

We lose countless hours of aimlessly surfing on social media. We check our phone hundreds of times a day and allow ourselves to get pulled into online conversations that take us away from the more important things we should be doing.

We spend our evenings and weekends bingeing on the latest popular HBO or Netflix series, and then we wonder why we haven’t gotten any closer to accomplishing our goals!

Face it: we all experience lack of focus from time to time.

The Only Road to Everything You Want

We commit to real change, and then we resist it. This cosmic dance has been going on forever in every ballroom since the beginning of time. Remember those New Year’s intentions?  Then you know what I mean. What’s up with that? Let’s talk focus….

I’ve committed to write more this year. It’s what I want. Now that I’ve said it, I know I will drag myself into my writing room-- and it will feel as though I have to hoist a dead whale body out of the way---just to sit down and type out a sentence—and this is my “bliss,” mind you. Naturally, I’ll want to pet my cat until she’s bald, then wash my hands, then research how did soap get invented, and then perhaps start a small organic soap company on the side that employs underprivileged women in third world countries. Oh, but I’ll stay put. I’ll write. Because I’ve committed to this focus.

There is a part of myself who will wheedle: “Maybe tomorrow. You’ll feel better tomorrow.” Then there’s the one who’s painted her toenails Purple Passion, during writing time, and stomps her imperial feet. “I don’t want to write,” she bellows.  Another part of me bargains. “I’ll answer email now. Do the dishes. Work on taxes. Okay, okay, I’ll exercise!”

True Acceptance, Big Desire and Uncovering Your Wild, Right Life

I’m in the biz of helping people live their wildest dreams. I’m also a champion of discovering the wild genius of your current life. These two tracks must go hand in hand-- or else they can undermine you. After two decades of being in this field, I want to give you the best of the best of effective focus. So let’s talk about how to use the innate strategy of “big desire”—and that bad boy super power “true acceptance.” Together, big desire and true acceptance are an unbeatable dynamic mindset duo—guaranteed to take you into the one amazing life you’ve always wanted.

Why Desire is Everything

In my career coaching, I rarely listen to my clients’ “reasonable” desires. I’m a conjurer with a glittery heart. “What do you really want, like what’s too good to be true to want?” I ask. “Only the real dream has the power,” I remind them.

Real dreams have the power of Godzilla, extinguishing miniature ideas of “why things can’t work.” That’s why I hunt for purity. I know the crazy truth is your secret code. It’s holy. It’s mystical. It’s involuntary. And it makes you giggle. The truth is safer than the denial of truth. The truth will take you all the way.
