We are all getting geared to step into the New Year. The thought of any kind of stress getting carried into the next year is really not very exciting. . I am going to suggest a few things we need to change about ourselves in order to step into a happy new year.
We do keep hearing this phrase very often, and I do believe in it, the fact that "Change is the only constant." But I also believe that the change must be positive. This of course is only in our own hands. We have to keep the focus of our minds and our thoughts running in the right direction.
I think its very important for us to be aware of our emotions. Negative emotions like anger, most specially disturb our equilibrium. They tend to give us acute stress in spurts, which if it turns into a habit, turns into chronic stress.
Most people are irritable and short tempered due to small irritants. It is important that you develop an awareness into why you are angry, what are the reasons, record these reasons, talk to a friend who can observe you objectively, and yet with love. Once you are aware of the sources of your anger, you can take steps to rectify it.
Research has proved that writing or any other form of expression, is a very positive way of dealing with rectifying negative emotion and turning it positive.
Try and eliminate your anger triggers. Fix problems that make you angry. You cannot extricate all your issues, but eliminating a lot of them is essentially relieving to the mind and your mental make up.
All the negative emotions running through your system are your Fortune Tellers. They inform you of your state of mind and the futuristic impact of this state.
Common habit is obsessing over negative thought patterns. The moment there is a trigger, the thought pattern takes off. Repeatedly discussing anger or other related topics, increases the stress hormones in your brain, which lead to lower immunity and other physical diseases.
These are created by constantly dwelling on negative topics. Complaint sessions are very commonly the cause of a lot of stress. Happy conversations lead to a happy state of mind.
Most people have the habit of playing the blame game. This is a very easy way of shifting responsibility. It gives momentary relief, as if there is no personal guilt involved in your attitudes. But although we realize our failings and shortcomings, which are responsible for giving rise to the stress around us, we can rectify the scenario.
There are ways in which we can guide our own negative emotions. It is imperative that we know how to deal with our emotions when our buttons are pushed.
There are ways in which we can guide our own negative emotions when our buttons do get pushed.
Don't allow the emotions of other people to take you to a place where you become a victim and feel the need to defend yourself.
Know what you want and work towards getting it. It is important to set a disciplined target always. When you streamline your life to someone extent, stress has no time to build up.
This refers to maintaining self control in a high emotional conversation. This is a skill you need to develop. This will make it easier for you to remain calm when tension is at a high level around you.
If you have a habit of blowing up, people do not feel safe around you. Since you appear to be unpredictable, people feel unsafe in your presence. They begin to carry shields for protection.
Do not send a threatened or angry vibe. People mirror emotions. Whatever you send comes to you double-fold. Send happy thoughts.
Once you learn to manage your emotions well, the strength will make you manage your goals and achieve them. Discard the negative and embrace the positive and live in the stress free zone of true joy.
The greatest asset is to lead a stress free life.
