Walk Through the Boundary into a Larger Life

Have you ever noticed that the more negative you get, the more difficult everything about your life becomes, including being able to do the simplest things?

Even your intention to work spiritually in some way -- to develop and transcend yourself -- now sits in the hands of a very negative self, a dense level of self that sees nothing but darkness ahead of it.

This dense sense of how impossible life seems when we’re negative is the direct expression of a certain kind of resistance that wells up in certain “dense” parts of us when life suddenly says -- usually in the form of some unexpected and unwanted event -- “Would you like to live in a larger world, without as much fear? Would you like to be less resentful, worried, or angry? Do you want the power to be more at peace with yourself?”

Get Yourself a Pocketful of Miracles

I’ve always felt a special bond with Dr. Joan Borysenko. I remember watching her on PBS and learning about her groundbreaking work on how our mind and body are connected and how the power of our mind can greatly improve our health. I was thrilled when I got to see Joan live on stage back then at the old Harvard Theater in Cambridge.

Little did I know that years later, I’d be fortunate enough to share the stage with Joan at many conventions and events during our days at Hay House. We’ve done so many shows together, I feel like we’ve become true soul friends!

Tapping Into Your God Given Power

Empowerment is a term used to describe the process of becoming stronger and more confident in one's abilities, often through gaining knowledge or experience. Some people believe that we are all born with an innate power inside of us and it is up to us as individuals to tap into this power and use it for good rather than evil.

Whether you call this ability God-given or something else entirely, there is no denying the fact that some people have an easier time "tapping" into their powers while others struggle greatly. The following steps will help you discover your own inner strength and learn how best to use your power for good!

There is a quote by Albert Einstein that says "If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there; you must go beyond them." This is very true when it comes to tapping into the power within yourself and using it in all aspects of life.

You are born with an amazing power that is not given to anyone else in this world. You have the ability to create your own reality, your destiny and career. Sometimes we get so consumed by what others say or do that it takes away from our true potential and power. The only one who can limit you is yourself! Let's tap into your power and unleash the greatness within you.

Think, Move and Act from Peace.

Tapping into the truth has the power to not only transform you, but it will also transform the world. So many of you have a hard time with what’s going on in the world, and yet you participate in it. Your participation is at the level of your pain – emotional pain specifically.

The illusion, or suffering, requires the recycling of emotional pain through the human experience. The very second you become aware of the fact that you are contributing unconsciously to the emotional pain in the world that is the root cause of suffering, you stop. Life then begins to show you where you still have this emotional pain in your vibrational system, specifically in your chakras.

As you begin to give this emotional pain your attention in your awareness, when life happens, it begins to transform. However, the commitment you have to make in order for it to transform, is to think, move and act from peace.

Open Yourself to the Presence of the Ascending Spirit

We have an innate need to rise above ourselves, to open ourselves to higher influences.

Our present condition is imagining what we need to do in order to get above ourselves, never seeing that whatever we imagine belongs to our past, to something known. In a manner of speaking, it belongs to the very earth -- the body of ideas and social values, morals, traditions, religious icons -- all those things that seem to lift us, but in truth sit beneath us and drag us down into their world, into tension and further division.

You are, whether you see it or not, in a constant state of tension. There’s always something that has to be fought with and overcome. And the mind doesn’t discern. It can be fighting with its past. You can be tense because of relationships that have been gone for fifty years, but you don’t know it because the mind calls up an image, imbues it with the sensation and emotion from the experience, and then puts you in a struggle to try to free yourself from it… which is tension.

Embrace the Density, Healing Happens

As we move deeper into the change of season that unfolds this time of year, do you experience a sense of loss, of gain, or is it simply a part of the cycle of life?

Similar to the four seasons, we evolve through a cycle. They are create, sustain, deconstruct (also referred to as destroy), and the void. These cycles are one unified continuum and we are part of the cycle. In fact, the cycle of life is not happening to us, it is us. We are all this one unified field, nothing is separate from us.

It is only our mind that decides that separation exists. In that decision, we become an isolated entity on this planet, rather than part of the cycle of life.

As we navigate these cycles, there are moments we experience density, chaos, or darkness – moments when there doesn't seem to be a sign of love or light. Those moments are misperceptions as we reach the edge of our conscious awareness. They are where the light of consciousness has not yet illuminated those aspects of the Self here in this dimension.

We're here to train the mind to perceive our wholeness, the Soulful Self. The most effective thing we can do is teach it to serve love – to serve the soul.

Let the Light of Awareness Transform Your Life

We are born hungry. We not only require food that we take in with our mouths, but we all have an innate need to take in impressions -- to take in the nourishment that stimulates our mind, that moves our heart, and that works to give us a sense of satisfaction in life.

When we’re young, we have a natural appetite for life, and we are educated by going out and engaging in the world. We meet other human beings, we find lovers, we find ways to make a living that will hopefully satisfy and stimulate us.

Then, as we grow older, our appetite becomes more and more refined, and we find we can no longer be satisfied by the life that we see around us. We realize that another relationship, more money, more food, more travel, isn’t going to fix things. It eventually dawns on us we can’t give ourselves what we’re hungry for through the things that we see in the world.

Shadow Work For Beginners!

The path to your unique, inspired, and authentic life is through your shadow work. The parts of us that are hidden in the shadows need to come to light in order for us to grow, evolve, and create lives that feel inspiring and exciting.

But looking at your shadow can be scary! Your shadow is the part of yourself that you’ve disowned or cast away out of shame or fear. This part of you is born from the grief, guilt, shame, and pain that has accumulated throughout your life. Over time, it surfaces through your traits and patterns.

Shadow work is the less fun, less glamorous side of personal and spiritual growth and transformation. Diving into your shadow work isn’t always easy or enjoyable, but on the other side of it is a life where we get to be our true, unique selves.

In this Ultimate Guide to Shadow Work for Beginners, I’m going to give you a taste of how to start shadow work – including why you might decide to explore shadow work on your spiritual journey, what’s in it for you, and a few ways you can dip your toes into the shadow work process.

So let’s dive in!

Quiet Genius: NO ROOM IN THE INN FOR CRITICISM

The author Don Miguel Ruiz reminds us to be impeccable with our word and to speak with integrity.

Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Too many companies and work environments are highly impacted by the gossip at the water fountain or conversations behind closed doors. Perhaps you remember the old axiom, “We change, we accept, or we leave.”

If we are unable or unwilling to accept what we hear, then we need to empower ourselves to not constantly rehearse the pros and cons of the individual that we are having difficulties with. It makes us appear as if we do not have an interesting life.

Quiet Genius: OPEN HEARTED

We are not ingenious. We are in the quiet of our genius.

The Quiet Genius is the path of deep imagination. It takes courage and faith to explore these depths and encounter your most profound sense of self—the Truth of who you are—and align with the soul’s intention.

The quiet genius always keeps the ability to stay in awe, like that of a child. The pure joy of welcoming the next moment or next experience ensures you remain ageless and never grow old.

Intentional Spirit: AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME

Can you imagine what it was like for the inventor of the first safety pin—how challenging it must have been to explain its benefits during a time when nobody ever envisioned one, let alone used one?

Or imagine the concept of a sticky note being explained by its creator before it was created. We could never conceive of a world today without a safety pin or a Post It™ note.

All creations and inventions begin as an idea, a concept, a thought in someone’s mind. Many times, this concept is dismissed as “impossible” in the minds of people who cannot envision it. However, in the mind of the
inventor it is feasible and real.

Secrets to Uplifting Your Spirit Everyday

Spirituality. Wellness. Self-care. Meditation.
We hear a lot of buzz on these topics these days.
But what and why? What’s the point?
“Why are so many people into meditation and spirituality these days anyway?"

Over the years, I have come to understand that there are two categories of people. Some are deliberately seeking wellness and self-care through meditation and/or spirituality and their thirst leads them to the path.

Still others like me, just happen to bump into someone or something which leads them on the path to embracing meditation and spirituality.

I was 23 years old, when I started along my path to finding my own spiritual self and realized that this was what was missing in my life.

It’s like those moments when you’re busy, so busy that you forget to hydrate, and suddenly someone hands you a glass of cold water, and you realize, “Oh yeah! This is what I need.”

Why “Spiritualize?” What’s “Spiritualizing” anyway?

“Spiritualizing” is the act of uplifting the spirit. But what are spirits?

Spiritual Grounding Techniques!

Have you ever experienced a time in your life when it seemed like no matter what happened around you, you had a sense of peace, calm, and contentment that couldn’t be shaken?

This feeling of solidity and an emotional well-being that isn’t rocked by the events of life or the world is what it means to experience spiritual groundedness.

Being spiritually grounded doesn’t mean you never experience a heavy or difficult emotion. It doesn’t mean things are always easy or that you’re not affected by the world around you. Instead, it means that whatever is happening outside of yourself, you know how to access a place of calm, peaceful serenity and groundedness that isn’t contingent on outside circumstances.

When you’re spiritually grounded, it’s like being firmly rooted with both feet on the earth. You have a sense of clarity and resilience. An inner knowing that no matter what life throws your way, you can find joy and peace within yourself.

Why do you need to be spiritually grounded?

Are You Willing to Live Consciously... Especially when times are challenging?

It seems that for many in our community, a sense of temporary reprieve has been replaced with yet another round of stressful and challenging situations, including human rights, physical/emotional/mental health, financial, and otherwise. Granted, there are people all over the world who are dealing with these and more every day, and we are holding them in our hearts and prayers.

It is not difficult for any of us to feel into what are often called lower frequencies. These would include worry, anger, fear, thoughts of revenge, and perhaps even disappointment that life just won’t smooth out.

“Here we go again” is a sentiment I keep hearing from friends, family, co-workers, and even people I make casual conversation with when out in the world.

We may have the best of intentions to stay in high vibration and not allow ourselves to be gripped by these lower frequencies, but once we take a step in that direction, the slope downward is slippery and takes supreme commitment to climb back up.

Intentional Spirit: DO IT NOW

Many people stop just before the diet really works or right before they finish a project that could lead them to a new sense of accomplishment.
It is too easy at times to walk away and “get by” with just enough at the end of the day rather than asking ourselves, “Did I give this day, this moment, this relationship, this client all I have? Was I totally present in the moment?” I realized this a number of years ago during counseling sessions. I noticed clients talked about every subject in the world and only addressed the real issue during the last five minutes of our time together. What is the tendency within us to delay or put off what we really need to address or confront within ourselves? Life is energy, inertia, and movement. When we delay our story, our story is delayed. When we wait to see what happens, we begin to live in what can happen rather than what is happening.

Intentional Spirit: GOOD INTENTIONS, BEING INTENTIONAL, & RESOLUTIONS

It is a very common practice at the beginning of each year for individuals to create a To Do list to be accomplished within the course of that particular year.

And what is most interesting is at the time, these lists are well-intentioned. I have arrived at a place in my own life where I realize there is a big difference between intentions and being intentional. Why is it that so many people write down a list and yet give up on these intentions in only a few weeks?

To me, intentions are based on the externals of life—the unexpected, the change which wasn’t planned, the weather, or a change in finances or relationships. You can hear a person clearly state, “Well, I meant well. However, now I must wait until ‘this situation’ clears up before I move forward.” People who create such an intention are stopped and stuck in the illusion of waiting. An intentional person—as opposed to someone who just creates a list of intentions—draws energetically from an internal and not an external source. An intentionally spirited person draws from an internal wellspring and listens to inner guidance with the ability to focus on the commitment made and prioritize the demands involved in completing a task or promise made to oneself.

Life Is Responding To What’s Happening

As you evolve, you stop valuing all the stuff that doesn’t matter anymore and you start valuing the stuff that does. It’s how you feel everyday that matters. Do you want to keep revisiting your past thinking that revisiting your past is going to make a difference? It isn’t.

How do you want to enjoy and make the best of your time? For me, time is a depreciating asset. It’s the only thing that has any value. I don’t have any ambition, motivation or drive and I’m so happy. Primarily, because I’m not afraid anymore.

Somebody who is extraordinarily driven is extraordinarily scared, insecure, and incomplete. They still think there is something outside of them that they have to accomplish or they have to prove something. Sadly, no matter how much this person accumulates or accomplishes, they will never be enough for them because they don’t know who they are or why they are here.

Realize that in that moment, from our current level of consciousness, we're not always able to see the infinite grace and possibilities of how life is unfolding. Listen to this episode and learn how being still, going slow and listening to your internal guidance will move you to even greater heights and possibilities.
