Want to Stop Living in Fight or Flight Mode?

Did you know that unconscious thoughts trigger chemical messengers in your brain, which in turn trigger your cells to take action? 

Let’s break it down... 

You may be familiar with the “fight-or-flight” response.

This response is something we all have.  On an evolutionary scale, it was intended to be triggered when we are faced with a predator, one that may kill or eat us. 

In this situation, we have two choices: to fight the predator or to RUN. 

Our bodies are flooded with adrenaline that gives it the ability to do one or the other. 

That same response is triggered in humans every single day. 

We are not running from tigers any longer but…

A stressful thought, a negative belief (either conscious or unconscious), creates a chemical reaction in your brain that releases hormones into your body, causing your body and its cells to experience fear—to think it’s under attack—and it has to either flee the situation or fight back immediately. 

Everyday stressors can include in-laws, bills, work, financial hardship and a variety of other modern predators can evoke the same response in all of us. At the moment the fear of death is prevalent in everyone’s mind because of the fear around covid 19.

The brain processes your thoughts and your body hears everything and reacts accordingly. 

And if your brain is full of a lot of stressful and negative beliefs, your body is in a constant state of fight or flight and is merely trying to survive another attack. 

Science confirms that negative thoughts predispose your body to illness. One study shared by the NY Times showed that 79% of medical students report developing symptoms suggestive of the illnesses they are studying because of the intense focus upon the illness. 

Findings published in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry found that our beliefs and our thoughts are neurotransmitters. What this means is that our beliefs create chemical messengers in our brain that communicate information throughout our brain and our body, affecting every aspect of our functioning, including our blood pressure, our immune responses, our sleep, and our digestion. 

All of this from being in a constant state of fight-or-flight.

Here’s the good news… you don’t have to be in that state any longer!

Neutrality is a state in which we are free of belief and attachment. Neutrality’s open-mindedness enables us to objectively access higher awareness. The state of empowered neutrality is where the ego mind’s thoughts and emotions no longer control us; where it is impossible to push our buttons. Neutrality is essential to peace, love and real freedom.  Once you have firmly mastered a state of neutrality then everything else is attainable—financial success, vibrant relationships, health, a life of purposeful meaning and more.
